Big News!! -
by Bucknut45 on April 23rd, 2022
Welcome to Western State Colorado's 1st ever Press release under AD Bucknut45!
We will do a season recap at the end of the year, but for all us fans and alumni, we couldn't be more proud of our Mountaineers! They were projected to be the in bottom half of the conference and lone behold we will finish in the top 5 in the conference!
With the coaches decision to redshirt to our best player from last year in PG Jake Harden and our two ultra recruits from last year's class due to the long term outlook of the team, we didn't expect much from them.
The brightest light of the season was seeing redshirt freshman SF Gregory Westmoreland take the bull by the horns and not only lead the team in points, but average over 17 ppg in his first year as a full time player!!!!
The most consistent player the last two years was C Mario Segui who unfortunately is a Senior and will be playing in his last home game against Maine. We wish him nothing but the best and only wish he had one more year in him as we feel next years squad will easily be one of the teams to beat in the conference and maybe even division 3!
Other exciting news around the program is they capped off their Recruiting class for the year with 3 very outstanding players. Future is bright for WSC and now the coaches shift their focus to starting to recruit the upcoming classes as they hope to land a 4 or 5 star in the next couple of seasons!
This is the AP signing off for now, but Goodluck to the Mountaineers to finish off the regular season strong!
