Why do fast players often have “Will struggle in a fast pace offense” in their bio? I understand why fast players would be better than slow players in a half court offense, but I don’t understand why they’d struggle in a fast paced offense. Is it just text or is there some in-game truth here?

The 'speed' rating in a player's bio relates more to their overall quickness. Fast/slow-paced offense refers to how quickly a team is putting up shots. Two different things.

Thanks, so what kind of players thrive in a fast pace then? Just shooters?

As far as I know, 'will flourish/struggle in a fast/slow offense' is more like a personality trait than related to any specific skill set.

This give head coaches a heads up as to changing Offensive Pace in Game Tactics to suit such players.

Look at the box scores throughout the season. Examine the Fast Break Points statistical column and the Turnovers column to see how the players are doing.

Slower pace requires dazzling dimes. A motion offense will be required. IU's all-time leading scorer was a fast pace struggler.

The struggle is real.
