Based on TPI, it appears that the three teams who will promote at the end of the year are pretty much set:

2018-19 TPI
West Texas A&M 138.8
Western Kentucky 138.7
Mississippi College 136.3

Pretty substantial dropoff after those three teams.

The most hotly-contested race this season will be who stays at V.16 in 2019-20 and who demotes. Teams #8 through #13 all range in TPI of 123.5 - 122.2 - a razor-thin 1.3 TPI differential between all six teams.

Teams #8 through #10 will survive, while teams #11 through #13 will demote to VI.

Team, TPI
Maine at Farmington 123.5
Southern Miss 123.2
Benedictine 122.7
Hood 122.5
Delaware Valley 122.2
Western New Mexico 122.2

Should be a fun season.

Interesting so far. Hood and the Golden Eagles both outperforming early in conference, Miss. College has lost to some good teams early but should recover with their roster. Hilltoppers looking good, but against an easy schedule to-date.

Hilltoppers are clearly the cream of the crop in the league this year. Major props to you!

Weird season so far...I occasionally think that I have an outside shot at promoting but then I am reminded that I'm starting 3 freshmen, a sophomore and a junior, LOL. Likely still a season away from being in contention to promote.

Looks like we're adding:

Arkansas
Nichols
Widener
Mitchell
Cleveland State
Alvernia
Western New England
Alabama-Huntsville
Drew

...for the 2019 - 2020 season.

West Texas A&M, Arkansas, Cleveland State, Mississippi College and Western New England look like they'll be the "chalk" of the conference based on what they have coming back.

Probably see you in a year. I think the Hilltoppers aren't quite ready to compete in D1 just yet, but we'll see.

@Derflet

I hope you absolutely shred it in IV.8 next season.

And based on our head-to-head record this season, I hope I never see Western Kentucky again, LOL.

But seriously though, you had one helluva season. Enjoy it. Rip through the remaining two games of the conf. championship and then crush it in the tournament - I'll be rooting for you.

I hope to join you in IV in a couple of seasons.
