Doesn't have to be a large pool, say 10 or 12, and each team could then select certain players to fill out their nonscholarship roster and those that aren't chosen would then go back into the pool for others to pick from. I know this sounds like recruiting but I think it's silly to have a bunch of low potential (5 or below) guys on a team that are not going to help the team anyway. I've seen some pretty fair walk-ons on different teams since I've been playing this game and some of them could've helped some teams, even if only in spot duty. Just my two cents. | ||

It could work here as well with being able to hold sort of a try out for walk on players. I would like to see walks ons be able to be cut from the team if a better one walks on in the future. And of course you aren't going to be getting any stars, just maybe a 9 or 10 pot guy that could actually play when injuries and such happen. As an example, with each years new class of walk ons, make it possible to cut a walk on that is on the team if a better one comes along in a new class. I understand that walks on players only serve one purpose and that is to fill in when there aren't enough players able to come in to the game when needed. But having the ability to kind of hold try outs every season would be a nice addition to the game which is something real schools do. That might eliminate a few 5 POT 23 SI walk ons that aren't useful for anything other than to be cut from the team... Good suggestion +1 Updated Sunday, August 18 2024 @ 10:28:17 am PDT |

So I've essentially been using 2 walk ons. One is a 10 POT and the other 9 POT. Luckily I got two that weren't too bad. Been waiting to get a couple of descent one so it wouldn't look like I was tanking while attempting this fix on the team. I always like to be able to field a competitive team. But yeah, it is understandable what the walk on roles are, it would add another element of something to look forward to each season. Just like it is when I look for new coaches which unfortunately has become more difficult but not a big deal... I guess it would just be nice and not really necessary. Would be a feature for the Spring calendar. |
