Magic Numbers to win Conference championship outright with 5 games to go:

UC Davis 6 - 2 home games
Louisiana College 6 (bot) - 2 home games left
Hardin-Simmons 7 - 3 home games
Claremont Colleges 8 (bot) - 2 home games

Magic Number for the final promotion spot outright. If you are going for PD, subtract 1.

Hardin-Simmons 5
Claremont Colleges 7
UPR Bayamon 10 (has to win out and have Hardin-Simmons lose every game due to low PD)

*Notes -

-big losses on the road today for UC Davis and Louisiana College open the door for Hardin-Simmons to inch closer.

-In terms of remaining schedules, Hardin-Simmons has more home games remaining. Not sure if that will make a difference or not.

-Louisiana has a tough road game remaining at Claremont Colleges

-UC Davis has a tough road game remaining at UPR Bayamon

-Hardin-Simmons has a tough home game remaining against UPR Bayamon

-Claremont Colleges has a tough home game remaining against Louisiana College

*so, it looks like it will be a great finish to a great season!

Magic Numbers to win Conference championship outright with 4 games to go:

UC Davis 4 - 1 home game remains
Hardin-Simmons 6 - 2 home games
Louisiana College 6 (bot) - 2 home games left
Claremont Colleges 8 (bot) - 1 home game

**note, this is down to a 4 team race. 3 of the teams will promote. 1 will get left out. I am just hoping both of our human controlled teams promote, and 1 of the bot teams gets left home!

-UC Davis is now 1 game ahead of the pack. With losses today by Louisiana College and Claremont Colleges, they may be on the outside looking in.

-UC Davis has a potential to win the last 4 games

-Hardin-Simmons has a potential to win the last 4 games

-Louisiana College and Claremont Colleges have a head to head matchup remaining that will probably knock out one of the teams and solidify who promotes.

-the only thing that could play havoc with this race is if UC Davis and/or Hardin-Simmons go on a losing streak.

Magic Numbers to win Conference championship outright with 3 games to go:

UC Davis 3 - 1 home game remains
Hardin-Simmons 5 - 2 home games
Louisiana College 5 (bot) - 1 home game left
Claremont Colleges 7 (bot) - 1 home game

*notes - Claremont no longer has a shot to win the conference outright, but can still win if they increase their PD over the final few games and other teams do not.

- Claremont also is 2 games back in the final promotion spot with 3 games to go, so it is looking less likely they will get enough wins to promote.

UC Davis remaining schedules (with previous games results)
at Caldwell (W 111-103 in OT)
at Bard College (W 107-53)
vs Clarkson (W 87-62)

Hardin-Simmons
at Bard College (W 97-43)
vs Clarkson (W 83-63)
vs Texas-Dallas (W 87-78)

Louisiana College
at Belhaven (W 71-59)
at Claremont Colleges (W 75-65)
vs St Bonaventure (W 86-62)

Claremont Colleges
at Chico State (W 84-59)
vs Louisiana College (L 65-75)
at Occidental College (W 67-61)

We have our 3 teams that will promote:

UC Davis
Hardin-Simmons
Louisiana College

Magic Numbers to win Conference championship outright with 2 games to go:

UC Davis 2 (PD +520) - 1 home game remains
Hardin-Simmons 4 (PD +514) - 2 home games
Louisiana College 4 (bot) (PD +434) - 1 home game left

These 3 teams are also projected to be in the tournament with these seeds at this point:

#1 - UC Davis
#10 - Hardin-Simmons (was a #8 seed yesterday, but guess a 44 point blowout lowers seeding...probably due to the team being weak, but still a 44 point blowout is quite good)
#12 - Louisiana College

UC Davis's Magic Number is now 1. They had a big win on the road today, but also dropped from a #1 seed to a #2 seed in the tournament projections. They won by 14 points on the road.

*Notes - This is down to a 2 team race for Conference Champ

-Hardin-Simmons won again today, so they can only hope for a tie for the championship. Their PD has now surpassed UC Davis as well, but tomorrow's game against Texas-Dallas is a tough game and the PD won't increase. They also held onto a #10 seed with a 35 point win at home.

-Claremont College won against Louisiana College, forcing them out of the discussion for Conference Champs. Louisiana College held onto their #12 seed even with the loss.

-and UC Davis should win tomorrow's game at home against Clarkson, meaning they will be Conference Champ. I project this happening as a 100% chance.

Wow...all I can say is wow about the national tournament seeding.

After a home win in which UC Davis wins by 49 points, they drop to a #4 seed from 2 seed.

After a home win in which Hardin-Simmons wins by 13 points, they drop to a #13 seed from a 10 seed.

After a home win in which Louisiana wins by 24 points, they increase to a #11 seed from a 12 seed.

Conference Tournament is holding form so far. The only real upset has been #5 Chico State getting to the Final 4 over #4 Claremont Colleges. That is it, and pretty amazing with all the bots.

Tomorrow's games are:

#1 UC Davis vs. #5 Chico State
#2 Hardin-Simmons vs. #3 Louisiana College

National Tournament stage update as we move into the Final 4 of our Conference tournament. UC Davis dropped to a #3 seed, but Hardin-Simmons made a major jump up to #9 seed. Louisiana College dropped to a #11 seed

The Final 4 could determine the outcome of our 3 top teams making the national tournament. But, could Chico State ruin a few of our hopes and get an automatic bid?
