2-5 is looking extremely close. I still have Air Force until we start playing everyone a second time.

In my second season, I seem to be the worst of the human teams. May be a loooooong season... :-(

There are only 8 games left of the regular season, and it's a close race at the top in terms of a regular season title. There are four teams that are in a serious hunt for the title, Chicago State (4th, 21-11 [15-7]), Dixie State (1st, 21-11 [16-6]), Missouri Western (3rd, 21-11 [16-6]) and Texas Christian (2nd, 22-10 [16-6]). Right now in terms of the tournament, Dixie State and Texas Christian are in, Chicago State is on the bubble but in, and Missouri Western is on the bubble but out.

Right now, there is only one team in the conference that officially will be demoted. University of Mary (3-29, 2-20) will be sent down to Division 3 next season. Memphis and Assumption are the next teams closest teams to be potentially demoted, but we will see if either team can hold on to sneak back into staying in V.2 next season.

We will be doing updates every game week to update the progress of the conference.

There is now one game left in the regular season, and here is where we stand in terms of the promotion/relegation battle ongoing in the conference:

EARNED PROMOTION:
Dixie State 27-12 (22-7) *clinched regular season title

TEAMS THAT COULD BE PROMOTED:
Chicago State 27-12 (21-8)
Missouri Western 26-13 (21-8)
Texas Christian 26-13 (20-9)

TEAMS THAT COULD BE RELEGATED:
Adelphi 15-24 (13-16)
Fort Hays State 14-25 (12-17)

EARNED RELEGATION:
Concord 15-24 (11-18)
Denver 14-25 (11-18)
Assumption 13-26 (9-20) *2
Memphis 10-29 (7-22) *2
University of Mary 5-34 (4-25) *1
*1: relegation to VI.3 *2: relegation to VI.4

KEY GAMES TO WATCH FOR REGULAR SEASON FINALE:
Mississippi State @ Dixie State

Seeing that we will be promoted next season, I wish the conference the best next season! We enjoyed competing here and we hope that next season can be just as good as this one!

V.2 was among the strongest D2 conferences this season.

We sent 6 teams to the tournament, which is 50% more than the average D2 conference.

Five out of the six won their first round matchup. That's 150% more than the average D2 conference. They are listed with their current rpi.
  • Mississippi St. 34-10 (.563)
  • Wyoming 33-12 (.555)
  • Grambling St. 29-16 (.553)
  • Minnesota St. 32-12 (.551)
  • South Dakota. St. 33-10 (.543)

Congrats to those in V.2, five teams in the sweet sixteen and two in the elite eight. Great run by all. It just shows how tough of a conference this was.

Good luck to Minnesota State in their matchup with Thomas More College tomorrow.

So who’s coming in second this year?

Won't be me, unless you're talking second to last ;)

Just rejoined after a good while away from the game, inherited a depleted squad that somehow promoted. So the lineup is, well, a bit thrown together this year.

6'8 point guard and 6'4 center? You got it. Not one, but two freshman 1-star walk ons getting minutes? Sure thing. It'll be a fun year if nothing else.
