If only it would translate to the FT line.

Anyway, how bad of a rebounder can you be at 7 ft tall? Hurst had the same comment and was able to grab 8+ boards a game at a mere 6'7"

Dont mind this guy. Not sure I'd give him a scholarship. But it would be cool to have a choice. Nice for those years you shoot craps on your guys and have empty spots.

This is my thoughts on this it may benefit a team if they keep the walk-on for one more year because it will provide the team with more time to recruit if they can't find prospects for next year so they rather keep the SR walk-on for depth or to play minutes to stay or compete for promotion and the playoffs. So even if it a small chance that a walk-on will be good it is still good to have that choice

@ EmeraldSeasSunshine - I think he suggested being able to give walk ons a scholarship. Then Steve mentioned "why would you want to give a walk on a scholarship because they are already on the team."

A couple guys said "the walk on could be on the team for 5 seasons". I may be mistaken but I believe that I'm not mistaken because a few years back you could red shirt walk ons and then it was stopped and for good reason. Walk ons stink and they are generally only on the team to fill a spot if other players aren't available.

So whats the point of giving a walk on a scholarship again? Seems like a point less suggestion and instead the suggestion should be, please reinstate the ability to red shirt walk ons.

I don't think that any thing having to do with walk ons should be done, other than maybe being able to kick some of them off the team so that a new batch can be generated for the next season and maybe better ones will be added.

When you think about this, walk ons already have a scholarship by simply being on the team and you don't even have to waste a scholarship on them because like Steve said, "they are all ready on the team."

Perhaps just bring the option to red shirt them back? Doing that would be better than causing a wasted scollie to be used and thats because any run of the mill 2 star guy is way better than a walk on. lol

I don't ever remember having the ability to redshirt a walk-on, slick. Not a bad feature to have imo - especially during recruiting strikeouts; maybe allow 1 walk-on RS per season or something.

I'll look into this -- I just don't think it's a high priority.

Two more things to consider...

1. I already get complaints about the unfair randomness of walk-ons. If I let people red shirt the better ones, isn't that amplifying the issue?

2. The primary purpose of walk-ons is to make sure each roster has enough players for a game given injures, foul outs and redshirts. If we allow walk-ons to redshirt, then it's not serving this purpose.

@ Steve.

Steve said: "The primary purpose of walk-ons is to make sure each roster has enough players for a game given injures, foul outs and redshirts. If we allow walk-ons to redshirt, then it's not serving this purpose."

Maybe I'm mistaken but back when the game first started I think I remember that walk ons could be red shirted. Maybe I'm wrong and I will admit I was wroung but I would like to see what Steve says. It kind of seems like the above answer alludes that walk on red shirting was around and that it was ended, but I don't know for sure.

And I agree, walk ons are good for only one thing and that is to be put in to a game by the AI where there is nothing else available, so why would you want to give them a skollie or red shirt them. Doesn't make any sense. A better solution is to just forfeit the game if the dept chart is messed up or not set properly.
