Notes: It’s funny how easily a person’s life can change direction. For Massey, an injury on the baseball field drastically altered his course. Massey, whose father played for the LA Dodgers organization, had every intention of playing baseball in college. But when, while playing shortstop in a high school game, he collided with his catcher and broke his wrist, an opportunity to re-evaluate his choice of sports was thrust upon him. Basketball would become the one he’d focus on, and once he did, he developed into a five-star combo guard. After signing with Oklahoma State, and being strongly encouraged by president s0nnymar to brush off the fear of failure (i.e. missing or taking too many shots) and just play ball, he turned himself into a first-round NBA Draft pick.
