Press Releases:

Feb 02 2041: New President Press Conference - by EmeraldSeasSunshine on September 29th, 2024

It's a big day on the Islands, as the locals will get to learn about newly acquired president EmeraldSeasSunshine. The press is now open for questions:

"Aloha Emerald, Jay Tuioti from the Seashore Press here, First off congratulations on the hire. I know the fans are eager to see what you accomplish on and off the court at this wonderful institution. My question to you is, what about your experience and philosophy makes you the right fit for Hawai'i?"

"Thank you for the warm welcome, Jay. In response to your question, I think my belief in culture and academic integrity will be something that makes this fanbase proud of the young men that set foot on this University. I will work diligently to make sure my players represent Hawai'i with only the highest level of integrity. I've always been a big believer in the Student first Athlete second, and that will remain my focus here as we grow our athletic program."

"Hey President Emerald, this is Jackson Reynolds of the Firesun Post, I'm curious what will the focus be on the athletic side of things? Essentially, What can the fans expect to see on the court?"

"A team very similar to what I developed at Nicholls State. You can expect a tough, athletic and disciplined defensive-minded team every year that will make attending home games a blast. Offensively, I have plans in place to improve upon my last opportunity to help increase the overall scoring efficiency. When it all comes together, this team will be moving up and down the court, bringing the fanbase together, while competing for Conference & National Titles every year."

"Do you feel any pressure given the successful history of the Basketball program?"

"Of course! I won't sit up here and act like it isn't tough. It takes dedication to your craft and relentless honesty to develop an ELITE Basketball squad each and every year. I feel that My time in Thibodeaux has helped me prepare to be one of those guys here on the Islands. I will not be satisfied with mediocrity in the classroom or on the court. I am are here to develop winners in life, no matter what path they choose. If anything ever seems muddled about the path forward or great uncertainty rises withing the program, I will step down from this fine institution. I am committed to excellence all on sides, and that's what we will strive to achieve. The winning culture of Hawaii Basketball is important for me to maintain."

"Any last thoughts President Emerald?"

"I'm happy to be here and will enjoy every second of bettering this already amazing place. This is only the beginning of a great chapter in Hawai'i. I'm ready to get to work for the Braddahood."
