Nov 21 2037: Sweep of rivals - by Joyd on March 23rd, 2024

Very pleased at our victories over Dayton, Xavier, Ohio and Cincinnati. Two at home, 2 on the road. Best was holding all 4 opponents at 80 or less. We tend to score but all give up a lot of points. Hoping for great things this season

Mar 20 2031: Injury marred season - by Joyd on April 3rd, 2023

Team lost 25 games due to injuries and finished below .500 and demotes. Hopefully next season will be better and we have lost our competitiveness from all the lost games these last 2 seasons. That being said we get frontcourt help next season with our first 4 star player in Hansen. The more exciting add may be Newberry, who we had a hot recruiting battle with Illinois over. One year at a time.

Mar 07 2030: Lost season - by Joyd on February 1st, 2023

What was supposed to be the penultimate season for the first great draft class in 2025 as Willie May, Jorge Saez, Floyd Cook were senior starters instead became an injury fest. We went from our first Top 25 ranking to finish in 9th place at 15-15 and 26-16 overall. May missed 11 games and 7 other games were missed by injuries and just as May was about to come back in the conference playoffs, Cook and Howard got 11 and 21 day injuries.

Oct 31 2029: First ever T25 Ranking - by Joyd on December 26th, 2022

Redhawks enter the poll @23. Doing that while overplaying Redshirt candidates Mitchell and Sykes? Priceless. A little bit of team anger at the RPI of 83? Seems so! Great job guys!

P.s. Sykes played today because he missed a game with an injury. He had 23 points, 13 boards, 2 steals, 5 blocks, 0 TO in a win vs Gordon and earned his first POTG. Great send-off to learn on bench with Mitchell. I don't recall any other games where we shot 70% Looks like a beast in the making

Mar 31 2025: Elite 8 and Farewell - by Joyd on May 5th, 2022

It is fitting that one of the best players in our history, Elliot Atkins, 3 time all league and conference player of the year, 2024, 2025, should both lead us to a 39-8 record, a VI.28 title and with a #8 seed victories over Gannon, #1 seed UCCS and Chicago State. For his career he averaged 15.6 ppg and 9.2 rpg with a personal game best of 35 pts, 21 reb, 6 stl & 4 blocks.

Originally from Mayfield Ohio he will be missed.

We also say goodbye to several seniors that made this success possible, and also suffered through some very bad seasons. They were my first recruiting class, Kyle Murrell, Brent Welsh, Reginal Jean, Virgilijus Laukaitis, Wilson Jacobs, Alexander Baldwin.

Another member, PG Harold Fletcher, with a redshirt will return next year to lead the team, and like Atkins, was honored as an All-League selection.
