Aug 31 2023: Season Ending Press Conference - by Apollo17 on January 14th, 2022

There was a bitter-sweet feeling to the annual press conference marking the end of Coastal Carolina's men's basketball season.

"My belief in Coach Benedict and this team was well rewarded", President Apollo said while speaking to reporters. "The coach and the men on this team made our University and themselves proud with the work that they put into the year."

Coastal Carolina had a very successful year securing promotion into the next conference following winning streaks of 7 and 15 orchestrated by the All-Conference guard Leland Bauer. Bauer finished in the top 3 in points, assists, and steals per game in the conference.

"We knew that Leland was going to be an amazing addition to our team and he has proven to be one of the greatest players to ever play on our court." Coach Benedict said.

Bauer will end his career as a Chanticleer holding the record for career ppg and apg, as well as setting the new single season record for apg.


Mar 11 2022: Season Ending Press Conference - by Apollo17 on November 10th, 2021

In his annual season ending press conference, President Apollo seemed pleased with the direction of the team despite the early exit from the conference playoff.

"When I was hired I wanted to bring stability to this program and I believe that we have the foundation of a Conference Champion team."

The words were a confidence boost to the second-year coach Terry Benedict who chimed in on the President's kind words. "I am glad to receive the vote of confidence from the President today. I am very happy with how the team handled the season and know that we can live up to the expectations set not only by the president but by ourselves."

The Chanticleers definitely had two stars in the making in Leland Bauer and Dorsey Gates. These two will be joined by five newcomers next season included the star of the class Bradley Goode


Dec 14 2017: New President - by Apollo17 on March 6th, 2021

In a surprising move, Coastal Carolina University has announced the hiring of Apollo17 as the new university president.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a prestigious university," Apollo said. "I hope to bring back the winning ways this university has seen in recent years."

It is unknown if this will mean any coaching changes but Apollo did say that he wanted more stability in the program that has seen 3 coaches in 4 years.
