Mar 13 2011: Catamounts win their first conference tournament title! - by MMacks on March 6th, 2020

With their senior leader sidelined with an injury, the Western Carolina Catamounts played an inspired game, routing Cal State Northridge 105-68. Coach Pederson credited his team with great defense and overpowering the opponent on the boards for a 47-23 advantage.
"We knew it would be tough without Marcelo, but they battled and sc*beep*d all the way to the end. The kids really impressed me", said Pederson.
The team awaits their national tournament seeding, but many pundits expect them on the 4 or 5 line. This team is hitting on all strides and hoping to ride this momentum thru March.

Dec 25 2004: Up and Down - by MMacks on March 12th, 2019

It's been a mediocre year, in terms of results for the Catamounts, but with three games against the bottom feeders of the III.2 conference up next, Coach Wilks is feeling positive.
"We've been great in certain games, especially offensively, but our defense has been inconsistent." Wilks said. "I really think we can right the ship our next three games, and continue to improve what is still a young team".
In recruiting news, Coach Wilks is looking to Lithuania for his next commitment. The legend of the "Juska Jumper" will fit in great with the rest of this offensive-minded bunch.
