Cincinnati, OH: Men's head basketball coach Rob Weiss guided the Bearcats to a third-place finish in II.2 with an 18-12 conference record (25-17 overall). Junior center Tony Blue was name Most Outstanding Player averaging 14 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. The Bearcats were upset by lower-seeded (and National Tournament runner-up) Florida in the second round of the conference tournament and failed to make the 2001 National Tournament.

The 6'11-1/2" center who averages 14 points and nearly 10 rebounds per game will fill a front court need for the Cats who only have Tony Blue as the only scholarship center going into next season.
