Pitt State President Pledges New Standard -
by RoyalBrave on July 20th, 2022
RoyalBrave, the new president of Pittsburg State in Pittsburg, KS held a press conference to discuss the current state of the basketball program & his vision for the future:
"Some of my mentors tried to talk me out of this opportunity, saying it was career suicide. After 1 week of walking the halls I wanted to describe the state of the program with a couple statistics.
- Current polling has the Alumni Mood not below 0, but below -20.
- With my hiring, in the last 3 years Pitt State has had 4 Presidents and 3 scholarship commits.
- We only have 6 players on scholarship & 3 of them will graduate after the season
The scandal from previous presidents has shaken confidence in the very fabric of this institution, and requires securing the foundational pillars on which it rests. Only after we have secured the foundation can we then have a platform to build our success story.
I have created a 20-member task force to focus on strategic plan for the core values of the university. Coach Whitney is a member of this task force, as I have recognized his leadership in captaining these young men through difficult times. Coach Whitney and his staff will remain in place until the end of the current season and each coaching position will be evaluated individually.
We are setting our sights to Division I, but rebuilding the fans trust in our institution, relationships with our alumni, and the team itself will take time. I will not promise a duration of time this will take, only that I will not let the Pitt State faithful down."
