Mar 01 2014: Mixed Feelings - by Gambit on August 17th, 2020
The regular season ends with very mixed feelings for the Vikings team. While they are ecstatic about remaining in their division despite being a weaker team, there were so many close losses and injuries over the course of the season that the question of "what if" is unavoidable.
Especially painful is the fact that the team likely will not be invited to the NCAA tournament, despite making it last season. The team continues to grow and hopefully this will be changed next season.
Skol Vikes.
Nov 23 2013: Strong Against Top 25 - by Gambit on July 20th, 2020
Due to a mishap in recruiting, I was expecting this to be a very difficult season for the Vikings (although it still might be). However, the team has really risen to a new level in a couple of games. So far, the Vikings are 2-1 against top 25 teams and this is despite being a weaker team. I was just hoping to survive the season but maybe we will even look at advancing is a reasonable dream. Only time will tell.
Oct 23 2013: First 4 Star Recruit - by Gambit on July 11th, 2020
The Vikings have signed their first ever 4 star recruit. It is great to see that the team can get top players into Viking jerseys. No idea when a 5 star will join the roster, but only time will tell.
Apr 01 2013: Strange Awards - by Gambit on July 2nd, 2020
Steve Strong is the first All American in the history of the Vikings program. However, he did not perform well enough to make the All Conference team. I feel like this is something that does not happen very often.
Mar 21 2013: Great Season, Sad Finish - by Gambit on June 29th, 2020
The Vikings did better than expected in their first season in Div 1. Placing third in their league was a pleasant surprise and the Vikings look forward to getting closer to that pinnacle of Div 1.I league.
While the conference playoffs did not go great, the Vikings still made it to the National Tournament. They were fortunate enough to get some luck and win a couple of close games and make it to the Sweet Sixteen. Unfortunately, two of the team's three seniors fouled out early in play and the bench could not recover. A disappointing finishing for an otherwise surprising season.
