Oct 13 2015: State Starts It Off Right! - by DM19 on October 26th, 2020

In their first exhibition game of 2016, the Golden Rams defeated Stockton University 65-54. Behind a good push from both Ivan Allen and Sal Tomlin, ASU pulled out an 11 point victory that had the team in good morale heading into their next game vs Roberts Wesleyan. Though they got a nice win here, all of the team knows that a tough road runs ahead.

Oct 08 2015: Golden Rams move up the ladder, Add a HOF - by DM19 on October 24th, 2020

The Albany State Golden Rams had a very successful season last year, which got them promoted from the V.5 to the IV.3 of Division 1, along with a few familiar foes. The team was very proud, and president DM19 stated, "It was a great year, and I am very proud of this team, but now we go back to the drawing board after our seniors have departed".

As for the new Hall of Famer, and 1st HOF in ASU's history, Lucas "Big Dog" Billings has been inducted to the Golden Rams Hall of Fame. He was a 2x All-Conference player and the V.5's Conference Player of The Year in 2015. He improved from a RS start and led the 2015 Rams to a big time promotion. Although he isn't a professional player at the moment, all of Albany State's campus have high hopes for him, and the rest of the graduated seniors.

With 3 games left in the season, and 3 games behind 1st in the V.5 Conference, the Albany State Golden Rams are all hyped up for their post season and are looking forward to promotion. Coach Dan Key states after an overtime win agaist Bluefield, "Even though I was Hired Late Into The Season, I Do Think This Team Had What It Took To Be Pretty Good For The Get-Go, And We Performed Like It This Year".

The Albany State Golden Rams were one basket away from victory in overtime of their last game against Spring Hill. In his return game, Lou Curtis put up 20 and was a key player bringin the game into overtime, but it just wasn't enough as the Rams fall 87-86 in OT at the HPER Complex. Coach Dan Key stated, "We had a solid game, and fought hard, but in the end only 1 team could win by that 1 point and Spring Hill just wanted it more..."

After today's win over Paine, the Golden Rams have reached a streak of 3 straight wins, and the team is happy. The Rams have out-scored their opponents 236-193 in the last 3 games. Starting guard Lucas "Big Dog" Billings stated in a press conference, "We're rolling right now, and with these next few games taking place at the HPER Complex, we know the momentum will be just as high, even with a few injuries". ALBST now sits at 16-10 (10-6 V.5), with their next game against 9-17 (8-8) Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
