Apr 06 2037: Longtime Coach Steps Down - by jdogg on March 7th, 2024

Longtime head coach Demar Davis has stepped down from his post at Saint Leo. We are in deep gratitude to Coach Davis for his many years of dedication, hard work, and success. Coach Davis guided the program for 12 seasons where he won two conference tourneys, went to three national tournaments, made the Sweet 16, and reached a program best 39 wins. We wish him continued success in his future endeavors. Saint Leo promotes Elmer Minton to take Coach Davis' place and looks forward to a bright future with Coach Minton at the helm.

Oct 02 2025: Coaching Change - by jdogg on May 7th, 2022

First, Saint Leo would like to thank Coach Cody Huber for his hard work and success during 5 seasons where he had two 30 win campaigns, two national tourney appearances, took the program up to Conference I.1, and had a top 20 recruiting class. However, Saint Leo believes it is time for change and has brought in Coach Demar Davis to take over the program and continue to build on the foundation laid by Coach Huber and those before him. Saint Leo wishes Coach Huber the very best!

Aug 27 2020: Thanks Coach Jones - by jdogg on July 31st, 2021

Saint Leo would like to thank Coach Malik Jones for 4 wonderful seasons at the helm where he had three 30 win campaigns, one conference tournament championship, three national tourney appearances, and took the program up to Conference II.1. However, Saint Leo sees change in the air and has brought in Coach Cody Huber to take the next step and looks forward to the future. Saint Leo wishes Coach Jones all the very best.

Oct 06 2016: Handing the Reins to New Coach Malik Jones - by jdogg on December 18th, 2020

St. Leo would first like to thank Coach Keith Harrell for his tremendous accomplishments in leading the Lions the last 5 years. He put together two 30 win campaigns, made the national tourney, saw the team rise to Div. 1, won the conference playoff tournament, and won an invitational group championship. The program took a great leap with recruiting and profile under his leadership. However, the program believed the time was right for a change. To that end, St. Leo announces the hiring of Malik Jones as head coach. St. Leo believes Coach Jones has what it takes to continue the upward trajectory of the program and looks forward to a bright future with him at the helm.

Sep 01 2011: Changes - by jdogg on March 13th, 2020

The St. Leo Lions would like to thank Coach Malcolm Hagan for his 9 years of service and dedication to the program. Coach Hagan had some high points which the school will not forget and was instrumental in moving the program forward. However, the school has decided that it was time for a change and has brought in well respected Keith Harrell to move the program forward. St. Leo believes that Coach Harrell is the right person to build on last seasons end of the year momentum and push the returning team to new heights. St. Leo returns four starters, including its top scorers and rebounders, and looks forward to a thrilling season.
