Things were not looking good for Coach Salazar's Blue Angels.
Down 34 to 9 well before the half, MMU's chance at redemption was narrow at best. But they seized on South Florida's early foul troubles, with a supercharged offense to take the lead and a stellar defense holding SF to just 16 points in the second half.
MMU star forward Phil Logan called the tense matchup a "battle of wits. They burnt out early, so we took the wheel and kept them guessing the rest of the way." Logan finished the day 5 for 10 behind the arc, with 21 points and 5 rebs.
With both teams hovering near the top of the table this sets up a January rematch that will be sure to excite.
