President Lasso Takes Helm at Kenyon -
by Lasso on April 30th, 2022
GAMBIER, OH -- Kenyon College has officially welcomed President Lasso to its idyllic campus in rural Ohio in a long-term effort to transform the school's basketball program. A Division 3 mainstay for most of their history, the Lords hope Lasso's hire will finally lead to an elusive promotion to the second tier and eventually a spot in Division 1.
To finally earn promotion in 2026, Lasso will rely on a core of returning starters, including center Nelson Sargent, Canadian guard Robin Doyle, and Ohio-bred point guard Nelson Okajima. The Lords are currently in the postseason invitational stretch of their 2025 season, having finished sixth in conference before losing to rivals Denison in tournament play. However, with new leadership for the upcoming season and promise of a blank slate, hope springs eternal in the Ohio cornfields.
