After a disappointing season, head coach Leonardo Villa was shown his way out the door. Some fans are thought to say this is a move way too late for the Generals, who have been on the downward spiral the last few years. Coach Joyner will be the newest man faced with the challenge of elevating the annual basement dwellers Washington and Lee.

When the new president came in, it was quite clear he would want a new head coach. After a long search, 52 year old Kyle Darnell is in to replace Brett Chance who went 15-27 in his one year with the team. While this may have an effect on the short term recruiting, the Washington and Lee board have the upmost confidence that Darnell is the one to turn this program around. Only aged 52 it is safe to say they are looking to the future.
