Hall Of Fame Players

Hall of Famer Erwin Shell
United States   #1 - Erwin Shell [ID #135910]     SG
Home Town: Wilbraham, Massachusetts           High School: Bishop High School           SG sf
Hall Of Famer                     Years: 2026 - 2031                     Height: 6' 5"                     Skill Index: 187
Games 178, 12.8 ppg, 48.2% fgp, 1.6 3pg, 37.7% 3pp, 2.8 apg, 1.3 spg, 22.9 mpg
Notes: Erwin Shell is the best player to never play pro ball. That's not true. But he was good and I can't believe he wasn't drafted.

Shell was recruited effortlessly, which is shell-shocking given his scouting report.

A tremendous work ethic on this bad boy, Shell, like Franklin, started his HS career as a 2 star prospect, but went on to win all conference honors in LL1, and was a star on one of HW's Great Almost Powerhouses.

Known for his all-around game, Shell is arguably the most skilled player the program ever had.

Hall of Famer Brett Franklin
United States   #5 - Brett Franklin [ID #117321]     PG
Home Town: Plainfield, Connecticut           High School: West Plainfield High School           PG
Hall Of Famer                     Years: 2022 - 2027                     Height: 6'                     Skill Index: 195
Games 170, 12.8 ppg, 47.0% fgp, 1.3 3pg, 34.9% 3pp, 83.7% ftp, 5.4 apg, 23.3 mpg
Notes: The Inventor was the perfect point guard! A lights out shooter who balanced it out by getting to the rack at will, a very good defender, passer and ball handler, he was the total package.

His legacy is that of a floor general who provided whatever his team needed on the court, and who worked harder than anybody off of it. As a high school freshman he was only a 2 star prospect, but through sheer effort and talent (it wasn't his 6' height), he became not only a star college player but a first round draft pick. As I type this, he is still starting for the Cavaliers after six years.

For the Beavers he finished with career averages of 12.8ppg, 5.4apg, and 0.7spg. But this is slightly misleading, because he didn't become a star until his RS JR year. He was a 16/6 player on about 55 eFG% from then on.

He won All-Conference honors in 2026, in LL2.

Hall of Famer Joe Dickerson
United States   #15 - Joe Dickerson [ID #101013]     PG
Home Town: Augusta, Maine           High School: Augusta High School           PG pf
Hall Of Famer                     Years: 2019 - 2024                     Height: 6' 5½"                     Skill Index: 146
Games 171, 13.6 ppg, 46.9% fgp, 1.1 3pg, 34.3% 3pp, 81.0% ftp, 5.2 apg, 1.7 spg, 25.8 mpg
Notes: Way to Go Joe was the first big commit for RupaScoop. A whopping three star player!

Dickerson thrived at the lower levels, and fans will remember him consistently blowing past slower and smaller defenders to finish at the rack. There were games he was simply unstoppable. He finished his career with 31 POTG's, and helped propel UMF all the way from LL6 to LL2.

He is third all time in career assists for the program, second in steals, seventh in points and fifth in game MVP's.

Hall of Famer Rufus Steele
United States   #23 - Rufus Steele [ID #106811]     C
Home Town: Horn Lake, Mississippi           High School: St. Paul High School           C PF
Hall Of Famer                     Years: 2020 - 2025                     Height: 6' 10½"                     Skill Index: 135
Games 177, 12.3 ppg, 56.9% fgp, 6.7 rpg, 23.4 mpg
Notes: Rufus the Barber Steele! He was nicknamed that because he cut the opponents off at the neck.

Steele was an unheralded recruit from Horn Lake, Mississippi. In fact the only team to reach out to him was the Beavers. But we saw something in him, something that nobody else did: the ability to score at will, rebound the ball, Herculean strength, a phenomenal IQ, rare passing for his position, and respectable defensive ability at a good size and weight. How did no one else recruit this guy?

He was actually a tad less aggressive a scorer than was expected. His career high in points was 29. He won no honors, he didn't play professionally. He was never the best player on the team. But he was Rufus the Barber Steele! Some nobody that ended up scoring 14.6ppg on high efficiency in LL2, and a player that struck fear into the opponent's hearts. RupaScoop's favorite recruit of all time.

Hall of Famer Luis Meza
United States   #32 - Luis Meza [ID #133598]     C
Home Town: Southborough, Massachusetts           High School: St. Mark's School           C
Hall Of Famer                     Years: 2026 - 2031                     Height: 7' 1"                     Skill Index: 175
Games 176, 17.6 ppg, 60.9% fgp, 8.5 rpg, 1.2 spg, 1.6 bpg, 28.8 mpg
Notes: Simply the greatest player in Beaver history.

Meza was a highly sought after recruit from the day he arrived on the scene as a high school freshman. The Beavers were the first to contact him, but soon he was swarmed with schools, and his recruitment became fodder for blogs and podcasts. Schools we one upping each other in grand gestures to try and win that prized signature. And the Beavers were not always in the lead.

The program had begun to sputter as Meza was nearing signing day. Guillory and Steele had graduated, and the team took a tumble, demoting from Legends down to LL2. Meanwhile another team, Bentley, who was closer in proximity to Meza's hometown, was thriving in Legends, and putting all they had into his recruitment.

The Beavers decided an all-out assault was needed. What followed was a General Sherman-esque blitz of recruitment that dwarfed anything the school had done before or since. But, low and behold, Meza signed on the line.

His play justified it from the jump. He averaged over 17ppg and 9rpg as a freshman in LL2, winning freshman of the year and all-tournament honors, having led UMF to the championship game (where they lost to the California Teddy Bears). He would win all-conference honors the next three years, two of them in Legends, along with another all-tournament nod.

Ah yes, the great loss. Meza led the Beavers to the national championship game again in 2031. There they faced the SUNY Kangaroos, a team they thought was a favorable matchup. But low and behold, the Kangaroos jumped all over the poor Beavers, and Meza experienced his second championship defeat. Alas and alack.

Meza finished his career 1st in total points (3094), blocks (281), plus minus (2029), and game MVP's (56). He was second in rebounds with 1499.

After graduating, he was drafted to the Utah Jazz (10th overall).

Hall of Famer Wyatt Innocenti
United States   #33 - Wyatt Innocenti [ID #110248]     SF
Home Town: Buxton, Maine           High School: Buxton High School           SF pf c
Hall Of Famer                     Years: 2021 - 2026                     Height: 6' 8½"                     Skill Index: 181
Games 174, 16.3 ppg, 46.4% fgp, 2.7 3pg, 40.7% 3pp, 6.0 rpg, 1.7 spg, 29.5 mpg
Notes: Wyatt was the first underclassman prospect that drew the eye of RupaScoop. As a freshman, Innocenti was projected as a senior, but his skillset belied an ability to play the three much more effectively. After three years of recruiting, Innocenti signed with the Beavers, giving them a scoring weapon from the wing unlike any they had before (or since).

Standing 6'8.5" with a 7'4" wingspan, nobody could block his sweet shot. He averaged 16.3ppg for his college career with a high of 36. He is third in total points with 2838, and could have easily pushed that over 3k if it weren't for him resting a couple non-cons. He is fourth all time in game MVP's with 35.

Innocenti gathered two all-conference awards and freshman of the year. After graduating, he played three years for the Atlanta Hawks.

Hall of Famer Lamar Guillory
United States   #34 - Lamar Guillory [ID #108552]     C
Home Town: Nashville, Tennessee           High School: King High School           C PF
Hall Of Famer                     Years: 2020 - 2025                     Height: 6' 11"                     Skill Index: 160
Games 177, 9.6 ppg, 56.4% fgp, 8.1 rpg, 1.4 bpg, 23.8 mpg
Notes: Lamar Guillory, known as the Count, was the first great Beaver big man. In a recruitment strategy that would foreshadow the mega-blitz for Meza in years to come, the Beavers put everything they had into the out-of-region Guillory, and won him over.

Guillory was a smart defensive beast. A clean-up guy. Standing nearly 7 feel tall, strong and lean but with solid muscle, Guillory was an intimidating presence for almost any center in the game. Offensively he was solid, not spectacular, but it's his defense and leadership that allow him an induction into this HOF.

Hall of Famer William Barger
United States   #44 - William Barger [ID #82463]     C
Home Town: Newton, Massachusetts           High School: Carnegie High School           C
Hall Of Famer                     Years: 2014 - 2018                     Height: 7' 1"                     Skill Index: 96
Games 142, 16.6 ppg, 65.2% fgp, 75.9% ftp, 8.9 rpg, 1.1 bpg, 25.8 mpg
Notes: The beast of Eden. The star of the team when I arrived. He set me on a course to constantly look for the next William Barger.
